I installed my TRD Quickshifter today. I have to say, I do not notice that much difference from my stock shifter but I only took the car for a short ride tonight. As of right now, I would say the change in throws was marginal. I will post an update after I drive with it for a couple days. I am hoping that it will make a bigger difference when the 3sgte goes in next month
Thanks to Coomer for the how to article. It was very easy with the instructions and I am a novice at working on my car. One final point. Coom's instructions indicate that you should cut the connecting piece of plastic between the knee panels. This piece sits under the shift boot bracket so it is not noticable. Some of the comments to his write up say DO NOT cut that piece. I tried for a very long time to take the old shifter out without cutting that piece and found it impossible. So, I cut it. I put everything back together and not only is it the same as far as looks go, but its also just as strong from the top. That is, the piece that was cut provides no noticable support so cutting it had no ill side effects.
