Your throttle cable is loose!

This is very BAD!

to correct this you will need two open ended wrenches... I think they are 12mm but not sure... been a while since I have worked on a 5sfe.

Open your hood... you need to find where your intake manafold is.. on GT's its the thing that says 2200 at the top of you motor and close to the fire wall. Not sure what the ST looks like.

attached to the front of your intake manafold will be two black cables... they connect to your throttle... The top one is your throttle return cable and the bottom one is your actual throttle cable.

There will be a mounting bracket attached to your intake manafold that will have two aluminum nuts that the throttle cable runs threw.

If your engine is running too high you will need to loosen the nut on the left/passanger side of the bracket.

If your engine is running too low you will need to loosen the nut on the right/driver side of the bracket.

Slowly adjust the nut with the car running.... do not do this TOO fast... keep checking the RPMs until your car shows 700-900rpm...

once the Idel is set you will have to tighten the other nut down so that both nuts are REALLY tight on the bracket...

DO NOT GET THE BRIGHT IDEA TO INCREASE YOUR IDLE.... this will make your car faster off the line but will cause all kinds of problems!!!!!
