So lately my car has been pretty gay with its brakes. When im stopping from an average speed (anything above 20 or so mph), i hear my rear drums making a type of Grinding noise. i checked my shoes and they were fine. I had replaced my drums a few months ago thinking this would solve stopping issue, but i always hear this noise...
Also, my front brakes tend to be squeeking a bit, checked those also, but the pads still have a good amount of life on them, and solutions? ONE more issue. When stopping from a normal speed, and at average pressure on the pedal, my my steering wheel tends to shake a bit between 20-40 mph. I checked my wheels and they are on pretty well. I was thinkin it could be the rotors... help would be appreciated. |

at my shop, if you pull off the rotors yourself we charge 16 + tax to machine (cut) them, and even if you get new rotors its best to have them machined before you put them on. as far as noise, you brake pads have probably crystalized themselves and that is what is causing the noise. you could either replace the pads or live with the noise. |
