Is it possible to get around the 200hp mark with a 5S-FE engine? or would it be smarter and cheaper just to go with a 3sgte? Im asking because in wake county, nc where i live, emissions are really strict, and the pass no cars w/ not stock engines. And if i did do a swap, would this engine be fine.

And i know basic about engines, but i've never done a swap, but me and my dad would prolly try it in our garage, and my neighbors a mech. and i could ask him to kind of point us in the right direction. unless you have a 5sfte setup, then i wouldnt tell people that its less of a headache. your head will ache weather you do a 3sgte swap or a 5sfte. in some cases the 5sfte may blow and youll have to swap the motor anyway. at least the 3s was buit to run with a turbo all day everyday. if you want no headaches, then leave your car 100% stock. at 1st i was worried about emissions too. when i got the 3sgte, i decided to have them inspect my car while the 5sfe is still in, so that way i would have 1 full year before i had to worry about it. i took the car down to my regular inspection guy at midas...he said "you know u still have 6 months left on your sticker". i told him that im puting in a jdm motor and i dont know if it will pass. he told me to come back in 6months with my jdm motor and gave me his card. he said just come see me and ill pass you, i did the same thing to my car a few years back.
