Ive got a 1983 280zx which is going threw a interior total revamp, and also working on designs for a 94st Hatch ( sound ). Ive got the the design of the 280zx pretty much down, 2 bottles TV in the middle, 3 amps sunk in the floor, speakers and subs moutned on back wall, all in glass and random materials.
But as far as the celica designs arnt coming along so great because all I have owned is a Coupe and Buyin a HB. But I was thinking of this design so I could take out the rear deck and you could see 2 bottles, 2 caps, and Amp, then on the back side 2 amps, and firing into the rear seats 3or4 10"s, and 3 12"s ( which I dont know if they would fit). So there is where I need help. And comments/questions? advice would be nice. 280zx Designs http://img57.photobucket.com/albums/v175/C...r/untitled2.bmp Celica Designs http://img57.photobucket.com/albums/v175/C...er/untitled.bmp DTE -------------------- I am a thief.

So you're getting a hatchback? You may want to re-think how the subs are facing...I've found that in the coupes and hatchback Celicas that I've heard, the bass always sounds better and seems a bit louder when the subs are facing the rear of the car, opposed to them facing the front of the car. I'd see if you can just hook up maybe one or two subs and experiment with placement of them and see what you like best before you build your enclosure that will permanently make them face one direction.
Looks like it'll be pretty cool...is your car going to have nitrous installed on it? Also, My preference would be 3 12" subs over 4 10" subs, though I'm not sure if either of those would fit. Also, 3 subs typically presents a weird load to the amp(unless you have an amp for each sub)...there are exceptions, such as my JL 10w6, which has dual 6 ohm voice coils, but typically, most subs have dual/single 8, 4, or 2 ohm voice coils. For that reason(and space and weight concerns), you may want to go with 1 or 2 high-output 12" subs, such as the RE XXX, Brahma, IDMax, W7, etc. What would your plans be for the front stage of the car? It looks like it's coming along well. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
