Ok, I am gonna get a DR CAI.
There is aluminized steel, and aluminum. I figured aluminum is better, but a friend of mine said it would heat up more than the aluminized steel. BUT, i wonder if the aluminized will rust? Also, has anybody made their own CAI and been hapy with it, and finally, who has a DR CAI, and how do you like it? |

oh and as for aluminum heatsoaking yea it is bad, it has a thermal conductivity of 240 J/(sMC^deg.) in reference stainless steel has a conductivity of 14... the ideal material has 0.00 conductivity. thus bringing me to my ingenious idea...
EDIT: just looked this up at dow QUOTE: "Thermal conductivity - Values usually range from 0.330 to 0.515 x 10-³ gr-cal/sec/cm²/cm/°C." thats for silicone rubber good stuff, thats y its used for couplings... (silicone rubber is NOT part of my plan, just seeing its conductivity for coupling reference) ANOTHER EDIT: for any of you who are wondering why the units for my #s are different from dow's units they arent different. gr=1 gram so it cancels, 1 cal = 4.186 J, sec = s, M = cm^2*cm*rho, and obviously deg celcius = C^deg.
