I keep seeing stuff about octance boosters, as an easy thing to increase hp. i noticed a diffence when i switched from low grade gas to premium gas. most of the octance boosters say they will bost octance from 3-4 pts. Nos makes one that says it will bost 10 pts, but it also says "acts as a lead substitute" and thats no good . but in short, do these boosters work?

Higher grade gas tends to burn cleaner and more efficiently than lower grade depending on the application. The recommended for our cars is 87 but for higher performance, 91-93 so says the manual. I did notice that everything is a bit smoother with the higher octane but like everyone else has said on a stock motor the octane boosters will do nothing for you except eat your cash. If you want some gains to go along with the boosters you will have to go turbo or any kind of forced induction (leaf blower motors are not accepted ).
