I finally got to the track to run the car.
I babied it off the line(i got the 5s tranny) and i am only running 13 psi with 18" tires but overall i had good times. 1/4 mile times were at 14.4 and 14.5 the whole time top speeds were 97 and 98 mph i think if i run it again i am gonna put the stock 15" rims on and turn the boost to about 16-17 and see what happens! I think 13's are easily within reach! DG -------------------- |

Dont boost to 15 untill you have a tranny than take the abuse. But the swap would still be well worth considering we all spent on average what.....8500 on our cars (spending 3k more is like 12000)thats a good number for stock 14'. I can understand both sides...a swap at minimal mods runs 14's while SuperSprynt said we run 16's if that both on stock motors(close too). spending 3G's on a swap gaining 2+ seconds is what you would expect slightly from a turbo/supercharger slap on(spending about the same) but in DG's case the motor can handle it (minus the tranny). At the same time I can also sympathize with having a stock 5SFE/7AFE and having to order a clip wait and wait then spend more time getting it in and wirring the bitch then needing a new tranny(maybee new mounts) only to run in 14's. But do you guys actually know what driving in a 14second car fells like, I drove my friends SRT-4 for like an hour a week back and it had intake, and B.O.V. and she ran mid 14's and that was a very very fun ride, being able to flick off Mustang GT's on the highway. Anyway 14's is a very nice number, but i see for the trouble it may not be worht it for some people.
Remeber stock EVO's and STI's run 13.6's!! This post has been edited by 5sfeTurbo: Aug 29, 2004 - 10:01 PM |
