Ran my 3sgte at the track, 1/4 mile time

I babied it off the line(i got the 5s tranny) and i am only running 13 psi with 18" tires but overall i had good times. 1/4 mile times were at 14.4 and 14.5 the whole time top speeds were 97 and 98 mph i think if i run it again i am gonna put the stock 15" rims on and turn the boost to about 16-17 and see what happens! I think 13's are easily within reach! DG --------------------

You guys, be realistic. He's running the stock setup with a front mount. He hasn't even upgraded the turbo yet. How many cars do you know run 11's. You have no idea what a low 14 sec car feels like. Low fourteens are a good time for a low modified swap. He's running stock tires and it's his first time at the track. With slicks he'll run mid to high 13's which is pretty damn quick. Im not saying its bad, thats a quick car, i was just stating my opinion. if i was going to sink more than 300 into the engine, it would be for a car that has a lot of potential. face it, celicas are fwd, fwd sucks balls. suping up an all-trac or gt-4, now thats awsome. (or an old school RWD celica.....) i think im going to hold off on my engine (besides exhaust) until i get some money for the new x-runner. thats quick but proberly still not 11's even with a couple thousand in the engine....

ill have to save up for a vette with a lingenfelter kit... sigh...

Ok - I'm not naming names but we have an 5th gen alltrac and a 6th gen GT2 in our club and both are stock (obviously the GT2 isn't but there have been no upgrades to the engine - MR2 tranny though). The alltrac is very fast - much faster than my GT lightly modded low mileage. However the GT2 has proven it's ability to smoke Turbo Supras in the quarter mile by 2 car lengths or more (the Supra's are stock to lightly modded and well driven by people who know their cars). I'm not sure what his times are but the 3s swap is sooo worth it - mines coming very soon. You guys can get discouraged if you want but after seeing a GT2 in action with a great driver, I can say that the GT4/alltrac has too much lag due to power loss in the drive train. I'll take a GT2 anyday.
And your never going to get an 11 sec car if 300 seems like to much to waste for you.

Heh... both you guys make it sound like 11 seconds is a very easily attainable number...
