Hi everyone. I read the howto on the antenna switch, and went "SWEET!".
I've put a switch between the wires (pink/blue) and (black/red), and it works fine... at raising the antenna. The only problem is... simply disconnecting those two wires doesn't lower the antenna. How does the antenna system work? The only way for me to lower it at the moment is by turning off the tape deck.. which kind of defeats the whole purpose soo... Which wires power the antenna down? Is there actually a way to wire a switch to make the antenna go up and DOWN, or was the writer of the how-to just full of ****? (I'm a little pissed because I dont want to have cut my factory wires for nothing.) Please help! Arg.. Now the reception is non existant. Is the pink/blue wire the antenna-receceiving line? I wired the pink/blue back together, but the reception is still completely gone. Any thoughts? This post has been edited by kamixZR: Mar 10, 2003 - 6:22 AM |

Ok AudioFreak I will do that tonight. I had a regular on/off 12v switch.
I didn't really explain it properly.. when I got the car, and before I chopped the antenna wires the CD player was already overheating. I'm pretty sure its just old age.. and I want a new double deck soon anyway. Another question is can you, or someone, explain the antenna wire? Which wire carries the signal to the deck? I have looked at your explanation of the wires in another post and can't see which is the "reception wire", I can post a pic of it if you want.. but I'm pretty annoyed that I get fuzz only now.. any wondering why. Btw any tips on the best way to get a 12v supply, should I leach off the deck cable, or is there anywhere else to get 12v power from? |
