Hi, my 94 gt auto is occationaly making a high pitched sound while i acclerate. it kinda sounds electronic, kinda like a rc car. it would only be while im stepping on the gas and it would go away if i let off the gas or brake. and when i come to a complete stop you would hear it again while decelerating from around 2k rpm. does anybody have any idea what this is?? any help would be greatly appreciated

The sound they are talking about is called "alternator whine".
Do as they have suggested obviously we are all assuming you have recently installed some car audio equipment. The only thing I will tell you is that my deck when 4 RCA pre-outs are pluuged in produces alternator whine, just running 2 preouts, and using hte amp's internal splitter, no "whine". So equipment sometimes can be blamed for the whine, and just not a bad ground. This post has been edited by exxtractor: Sep 15, 2004 - 7:18 PM |
