ever since i bought this car i have had bad experiences!! well heres another one, the clutch got drastically lighter.
heres the story,(dont ask me why but it happened) i launched out of first at 4krpm. and then i shifted into 2nd and the rpm was still high. anyway i stopped after that and i smelled something burning. i didnt run it for long. i think i "burned my clutch". the clutch itself works fine its just the pressure that was there isnt there anymore. the pedal feels so much lighter and easier to press. wat should i do? -should i replace the clutch? leave it alone? -can i get the pressure back? -how much for a new clutch? (racing and stock prices) and about how much for installation at a shop?? help me out!! |

I abuse the crap out off all of my clutches (currently have 3 spare kits for my 4AGs) and they always take it. If the pedal feel drastically changes out-of-the-blue, it could be pressure loss or something. Pump the clutch... if that doesn't work, check the slave and master cylinders. The slave cylinder could be stuck not allowing the clutch to completely disengage causeing slippage and soft pedal feel. If it's not that, then it's most likely your pressure plate is worn and you should replace it. Excedy is factory stuff and is very good quality. I believe they make factory Honda and Toyota clutches under different company names (daikin for Honda, not sure for toyota).
