what if you took the late model 3S-GE top end (with VVT-i) and put in on the 3S-GTE?
would you have toyota reliability on a turbo motor with VVT-i? or am i just an idiot and there is an obvious reason it won't work. -------------------- my signature is the coolest.

There is no way to work.....
 What a wild block have to do with the low compression block of the 3SGTE???...I think its nice move if you take the block from a 3SGE(VVTI) and put it on a 3SGE non-VVTI block... you could have better results......If you want to extend the duration with wilder camshaft profile HKS and JUN has very nice camshaft kits for 3S block and trust me...its cheaper.
