what if you took the late model 3S-GE top end (with VVT-i) and put in on the 3S-GTE?
would you have toyota reliability on a turbo motor with VVT-i? or am i just an idiot and there is an obvious reason it won't work. -------------------- my signature is the coolest.

If you check out any race vehicle from honda or toyota, you'll see that neither of them have vtec or VVTi. Regardless of turbo or NA. More aggressive cams don't have variable valve timing. Turbo charging a car with vtec or VVTi, won't reach full potential because the cams have too much overlap.
