So I've been looking into getting an alarm for my Celi, but thought there might be a cheaper way than spending $200-$300 at a local spot. I turned to wonderful eBay to solve my problem, only to find many brands which I had never heard of... A lot of these alarms look really good, but I thought I would get an opinion here on a few specifically.

AG-95S Starter/Alarm
Panther PS-500 Starter/Alarm
Thor Starter/Alarm

I especially like the Thor alarms with the cell-phone styled 2-way remote. I was just wondering if anyone here has had experience with these brands and could give some advice. Thanks.

I say go for the viper alarm.  The one with the screen on the remote.  A lil more expensive but damn thats a hot alarm.  The one they sell at my work even has a turbo timer that comes with it.

All three of the ones on eBay I linked to have LCD screen remotes, which is really the reason I suggested them. Viper alarms are a little more than I wanted to spend...

I've heard some of the best anti theft devices are made yourself.. like a series of switches connected to your starter that have to be in a certain order for the car to even start.. hell you could even locate it in some odd location a potential robber wouldnt think to check like under a seat or under the ashtray.. be creative and i'd suggest using a lojack system... ::Nod::

My reason for an alarm isn't solely to keep my car from being stolen... I have stereo equipment and other stuff in my car that I'd really like to keep.

All I'm really looking for is an opinion on any of those three brands I mentioned.
