Alrighty, so I've searched and found nothing. I am doing a basic head swap, replacing the 5sfe on my celica with a rebuilt 5sfe because the valve seals are toast. I have the head, and will check the seals and valve lash. I have the BGB for the car.
All I basically need to know from the experts (I've only ever done a swap on a Honda), is what parts I need (do I need new tensioners, etc), I'd imagine I'll do the water pump and timing belt, so what all do I need, and where's a good place online to get it.

So far
Head Gasket - Want a decent one
intake & Exhaust manifold gaskets.
Timing belt - any better than the others ?
water pump
t-stat (low temp because I don't drive it in the winter)

So, some help as to what else and what specific parts, as well as where you buy your toyota stuff online would help!

THANKS!

Dr.

Here is off of the top of my head:
fuel injector o-ring kits
2 crushed gaskets for exhaust
two small water bypass hoses that are under a heat shiel under the exhaust mani
valve cover gasket
little grommets in the spark plug wells
cam seal
gasket that should come with thermostat but mine didn't frown.gif
throttle body gasket
egr gasket
two tensioners for timing belt
2 crushed washers for either end of banjo bolt on fuel rail
that's all I can think of right now. I bought all of my stuff from olympic becuase my friend has a wholesale account. What ever they did not have I bought from toyota.

Before you put the head on check the shims
Make sure whoever installed the cams put the subgear back on correctly and there is torque in the torsion spring
run a chaser through the plug wells, I had to do it with mine on becuase some asshole tightened the spark plugs too much
Check the mounts when you have them out (all but the tranny I think), had that come back and bite me on a vw

That should be it. The head didn't give me any problems except for the stripped plug thread.
