Okay so i bought a new shift knob from Gilbert which is great. But the new knob is a little shorter than the stock knob so there is a small gap of maybe 1/4 inch between the bottom of the knob and the boot. So i was thinking i could just cut the shifter (the actual metal bar) down a little bit so it was flush. In doing this i would be cutting off some of the thread. So if i do cut a small portion of the thread would i still be able to put my stock shifter back on if i wanted to. thanks guys. any sugestions are welcome

hehe - his name is David Robinson
--you gotta upload on the net, like photobucket

I would move the boot or get a short shifter like TRD or TWM
