Okay so i bought a new shift knob from Gilbert which is great. But the new knob is a little shorter than the stock knob so there is a small gap of maybe 1/4 inch between the bottom of the knob and the boot. So i was thinking i could just cut the shifter (the actual metal bar) down a little bit so it was flush. In doing this i would be cutting off some of the thread. So if i do cut a small portion of the thread would i still be able to put my stock shifter back on if i wanted to. thanks guys. any sugestions are welcome

this is all you have to do...
Move the plastic ring up, then take electrical tape and wind the tape around the shifter right below the ring. Wrap the tape around like 10 times, so the ring cant slide down the shifter. I got a TRD knob that I had to do this with. Its simple. -------------------- ![]() |
