sooo im goin down the street and this lil ford focus zx3 pulls up next to me... i think oh no not another one. so he revs i rev we go... i had him till he hit 3rd gear and i was just gettin out of second. then he pulled, he had me by a half a car length. but still if that 3rd gear had any power i would have beat him.... so do you guys know of anything at all that can cure this auto problem. besides a 5 speed swap?? PLEASE HELP MY BABY IS TO SLOW... maybe those cars are faster than i thought.

i agree with this.. the ST loses power @ anything above 4000rpm. if you want power, turbo the car. any mods you do to the 7afe will be external in nature. meaning, you won't see any signifigant gains from intake/exhaust/header. that being said, if you were serious about performance, worry about cutting corners on another aspect of the car : weight. smaller wheels, 5 speed transmission swap, take out back seat, drive with a quarter tank of gas, etc. it sounds stupid, but every little bit can make a difference. until you can afford a turbo / swap, this is the only way to go. you won't do anything by building up the 7a, it isn't a performing motor. |
