hey all,....the motor in my 94 has really seen better days, its got like 156,000+ on it, and i havent been taking care of it like i should (leaky valve cover, missing oil changes, letting it run low on oil ect...)so when i had the chance a few months ago to buy a 5sfe out of a 98 with like 50,000 miles on it real cheap, i did, figuring, "well, im sure i'll have a use for it SOMEDAY" lol.
well i recently checked the compression on the old 5s and the numbers werent that good...about 135-140 across all 4...the BGB wants a minimum of 147, so i figured well, its about that time! so, i called in the troops, and swaped the 98 motor into the 94. here are some pics and vids! the old 5s in the bay the old engine on the lift this is what happens when you dont change your oil, ect..so DONT DO IT! the VERY dirty engine baythis is what happens when you have bad CV joints and dont fix them for a while.. the donor engine the new clutch this is what the valvetrain SHOULD look like..hehe the new engine in the bay This post has been edited by presure2: Nov 16, 2004 - 11:03 AM -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
