My car does this.. in the morning.. and during the day.. when it's hot.. or cold outside.
I was told I needed a new head gasket. -------------------- |

QUOTE(Jen @ Nov 17, 2004 - 8:28 PM) My car does this.. in the morning.. and during the day.. when it's hot.. or cold outside. I was told I needed a new head gasket. Sounds like you do. You can do a compression test and see if 1 or 2 are below normal, and you can also check your oil next time you change it. If it is milky, then your leaking coolant, most likely a blown head gasket. If the coolant gets mixed in with the oil... well you can imagine what it can do to your internals. When you do get it replaced, make sure you know why it blew in the first place, and address it so it doesnt happen again. Many times if your engine overheats, the head will warp, and cause the gasket to blow. So if you replace the gasket, take the head to a machine shop and make sure it is totally flat. -------------------- |
