Ok I am wanting to hop up the 7afe in my 94 ST and i have found some good deals on engine internals and turbos and stuff but im not sure what to do about the tranny. Im not trying to get track times out of the car or anything. This is still going to be a daily driven car....im just trying to make if fun to drive and put a lil meat to the motor. The problem im facing is that the stock tranny i have is weak on only supposed to handle like 110hp. Are there any performance transmission parts for that tranny beside a clutch? What about the 4a tranny? How much can it handle? Lemme know what you guys think or if you know any parts or swaps i can do to beef up this tranny to handle a lil more power.

Will more horsepower stress the [already somewhat weak] synchros even more? Or is it simply the shifting that stresses the synchros?

no the syncros get damaged when you shift at the wrong time..

Synchros just wear in general. Some cars have paper material synchro's...they dont last very long and shift crappy to start with usually. Some cars have double and triple cone synchro's and they hold up ALOT longer and shift smoother. Shifting hard and at the wrong time though does cause excess wear on them.
