i just got a ticket 2 days ago too.. was driving home from work and a cop pulled me over, didn't say anything, took my license, insurance and registration and sat in their patrol car, chatting, drinking dunkin donuts coffee, wasting my time. took them 30mins and they started their car and drove beside me. gave me back my license with 2 summons and left without saying anything. i looked at it and one summon says, modified exhaust, and the other says uneccessary noise egine exhaust. they don't have the tendency to at least tell me what i'm pulled over for. i need to know what's the NY law on modifying exhaust and the decimal level on the noise the muffler creates. i think this 2 tickets are just BS man... what i think is they pulled me over and found out that my record was clean, they need to give me a ticket for something and they notice my muffler. i know very well cause when i passed them, i didn't even step on the accelerator, and thus the muffler creates a really soft sound probably no sound at all too. the cops nowadays are really getting ridiculous when giving out tickets. anyone here's able to provide me with information on the exhaust? appreciate it.
