QUOTE Why do you need a second battery? Only usefullness ive ever seen from it is when the 2nd battery powers a winch or something. If your having power issues beef up your alt and get a stronger cranking battery. otherwise the two batteries (being completely different batteries obviously) will just drain each other (if their connected at a common point on both + and -... Even at that if your alt's stock your prolly making the poor thing full field itself all the time or damn near close to it. poor idea in my opinion. Go percocet! You need a second battery to run everything else you have put in your car, like stereo, neons, TV, playstation. My lights don't flicker at all when my stereo is all the way up. It doesn't put any strain on my alt I don't just have them connected I have it running through an isolater which charges both batteries just not as fast, and doesnt put any strain on my alt. -------------------- -Brad

From time to time I turn all of that off and run mutliple 400W Tungston lights off my car. and I don't need a second battery. Why do you? |

Granted, it'll take a while to run down the batterey but if you're at a show that stuff could be going all day. We knew it was an issue and so we had jumper cables ready; but I ran 4 200W lights for 5 hours once and didn't need a jump- she started up fine. The only cars I've seen that run power at shows are plugged in- and personally I wouldn't run power at shows unless I was plugged in. |
