I have a 95 gt do i have srs seat belts. What does srs stand for anyway and what does it do. I thougth it was airbag related.

I ask because ive been looking for a drivers seat belt assembly (spool and belt) to replace the one in my car since i got some paint on it. However im not sure if i need the srs or the non srs ones.

the ones that are in my car now one plug on the spool assembly as well as a weird ball barring looking mech inside that lockes up if pulled on to fast.

thanks in advanced

SRS: Supplemental Restraint System

Faults can occur in components such as airbags, seat belt tensioners, and the sensor unit or in their associated wiring circuits. A fault is indicated by the SRS lamp in the instrument panel, which remains "on" until the fault has been remedied and the OBD system cleared.
