http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.ad...112005909990004 WASHINGTON (Jan. 12) - The search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq has quietly concluded without any evidence of the banned weapons that President Bush cited as justification for going to war, the White House said Wednesday. The Iraq Survey Group, made up of some 1,200 military and intelligence specialists and support staff, spent nearly two years searching military installations, factories and laboratories whose equipment and products might be converted quickly to making weapons. White House press secretary Scott McClellan said there no longer is an active search for weapons. ''There may be a couple, a few people, that are focused on that'' but that it has largely concluded, he said. ''If they have any reports of (weapons of mass destruction) obviously they'll continue to follow up on those reports,'' McClellan said. ''A lot of their mission is focused elsewhere now.'' Chief U.S. weapons hunter Charles Duelfer is to deliver his final report on the search next month. ''It's not going to fundamentally alter the findings of his earlier report,'' McClellan said, referring to preliminary findings from last September. Duelfer reported then that Saddam Hussein not only had no weapons of mass destruction and had not made any since 1991, but that he had no capability of making any either. Bush unapologetically defended his decision to invade Iraq. Bush has appointed a panel to investigate why the intelligence about Iraq's weapons was wrong. 01-12-05 1157EST This post has been edited by Sh0gunkid8721: Jan 12, 2005 - 1:55 PM -------------------- Note to new members. QUOTE If you noticed which states were red, they were southern and midwest ok. poli sci lesson....these are the results of the election county by county. if you notice, geographically, the majority of the country is 'red'. this lends its self to dispell those who propagate the fact that "its the south"or "its the midwest" and inform those of you who regurgitate these 'facts'. ok... back to the learnedness.... some of you might wonder why? why are some small areas blue and the rest red? well my friends the easiest way to find the moral of the story in political science is money.... income .... where does it come from? how? ect ect... if you take out your handy dandy road map of the US and compare it to the election map you will notice that many of the counties are located in and around the biggest cities. these cities are very densly populated. the majority of the funds that are used by federal social programs are in these areas. which include welfare, unemployment, ect...ect.. although its true to say that the majority of americas economy flows through the larger cities in america this is also a place of extreme poverty. travel to any inner city of a large metropolitan area at night with your khakis and new kids on the block t-shirt on if you believe me..... this strife spills over into every neighborhood of these metros and affect everyone (economically) in general the reason why vastly populated areas are the the not so high kelvin color of blue is because of the democrats social policies. dems=big government, in turn lends itself to more money for social programs .. the farther away from the city the more self sustaining life style takes over and the ppl need the government less..... before you repeat something know why this person has told you this look at thier motives? what do they stand to gain? be someone who can recognize propaganda from either side of the political spectrum........ ignorance is strength This post has been edited by carb0n_f1b3r: Jan 14, 2005 - 2:38 PM -------------------- WAR HAS NEVER SOLVED ANYTHING...EXCEPT FOR THE ENDING OF COMMUNISM, FASCISM, NAZISM, AND SLAVERY.
