I want to fit a Smaller sportier steering wheel to my ST202 (UK spec). It has a drivers and passenger airbag. If i disconect the airbag will I get a fault light on the dash? How can I remove the fault and will the passanger airbag still work. Someone has metioned putting a resistor accros the airbag connections to remove fault? Anyone done this before?

I was told when I wrecked my 1st one that everything had to be replaced. I guess that is why so many Celi's die in wrecks.

damn that suck... but i just read in the repair man.. that after 10 years the system has to be checked/ and / or replaced...

i wonder those that mean once u have a 10 year old car.. u can take out the Airbag system...i have never been a big fan of airbags..well in the streering wheel anywhays..

Mine actually worry me too. I'm not that tall so I'm most comfortable when I sit close to the wheel. I'm most afraid of my arms snapping if they're on the wrong spot on the wheel if I get hit.

Its not that the bags wont work, but they might not work. When i wrecked my bimmer in the summer or 03 mine worked fine, And it was a 1991 bmw. So I would not take out the bags.

Also for what coomer mentioned. When i wrecked my bimmer, i wasnt sitting very close but I did grab both sides of the wheel and had my arms sliced up in 3 spots and were all red- then black and blue for about 2 months from the stering wheel ripping open and blowning up.
