I know GT4s in Japan depending on year, condition, mileage etc... go for around $5000, GT4s in countries with the steering column on the left side go for around $8000. legally you can't import a GT4 from japan into the US because of Safety and Emissions, the only way to get a gt4 in is either disable the vehicle ie. take out engine, cut car in half etc.. or register it as a offroad racing vehicle. If you dont do any of these then Customs will bond your vehicle for 150% of its value until you bring the proper safety modification paperwork from a body shop.
Shipping a Full car from Japan to the US depending on port and if you decide to pick up car at port or have it delivered will cost you $1000-$2000. I was seriously looking into shipping a GT4 from japan. Its only that Ive already sunk $10,000 into my current ride, and I got lazy finding someone who could be a go between me and the car seller in japan. I would recommend that if someone has a Japanese friend and havnt sunk to much money in their current ride to go for the Japanese GT4. You can get left sided GT4s but these are more expensive and rarer then the japanese type. The Best source for GT4s is yahoo auctions japan. Uste altavista babelfish translator or ask a japanese friend to translate. Good luck |
