Apparently a New York radio station morning show made a parody song about the tsunami that includes racist, disrespectful, and offensive remarks towards its victims.
Go here for the full story. There is also a link up for you to download the song and listen to it. I'm glad they are getting suspended. I think they should just get FIRED. This is absolutely sickening. I suggest you email or write these people and complain, etc. *sigh* EDIT: Ok, it seems those links aren't working. You can download the song here. I think freedom of speech was upheld. There has been no action by any governing body such as the FCC, although i do think the the FCC division that handles Indecency and obscenity should have done something, at least a statement. Everything that is happening is due to pressure from the public and sponsors as well as disregard of the stations own policies.
Not only is the song is tasteless since it makes fun of the hundreds of thousands who died in a disaster, but it also uses racial slurs that are offensive to Asians. And on top of that, they introduce the song by attacking Miss Info when she says she thinks it is offensive to Asians. This is followed by Todd Lynn making the statement "Im going to start shooting Asians." If anything, at least he was fired for making that statement. -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |
