just like the topic says, i think this would be a very good little thread, just to give some insight for the newbs and dreamers as to what the swappers have done, what they went through, and how it's workin out to this day. feel free to add any info you wish, mainly the car type before, the new motor type, info about your personal swap (as all swaps are NOT created equal), a time frame, general cost, how is the performance, are you happy w/ it, etc... . let's see how big this list can get. .
-John- edit: btw, only post if you are DONE and driving the car. that's what i'm lookin for. -------------------- |

It's not a 6th Gen, but some people might be interested:
'98 Toyota Corolla, 1ZZFE Automatic. Brought to my shop (Phoenix Tuning) for a 2ZZGE swap and auto/6-speed conversion. Pulled the stock engine and the 2ZZGE Did the manual conversion Made custom engine mounts Made custom wiring harness Installed 2ZZGE Modified exhaust manifold Modified lots of other stuff to fit Got engine running Just waiting on custom axles from Moser Engineering to take it for a ride. Oh yeah, I also converted the front hubs to 5 lug and installed the big Matrix brakes, and I'm going to do the same in the rear this week. After doing the swap I would say that it certainly would be a possible swap for a 6th Gen Celica. With the 3SGTE as an option that is probably similar in price, I don't really see this happening too often unless you have an ST and you want to equal the 7th Gen Celica GTS. That would be pretty cool, I think. Here's a full diary of the swap: http://www.northeasterntuners.com/modules....iewtopic&t=2307 -Dr Tweak This post has been edited by raven_101: Feb 15, 2005 - 6:04 AM -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |
