First off, I KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING, AND I DON'T NEED ANY OF YOUR RANTS.
Alright, with that out of the way, I was following a truck up the hill, and I look up the hill aways and there's a bunch of state cops sitting out side there cars. I look right at my spedo right away, and i'm doing exactly 39 (i usually never go over 40). The state cop pulls out to follow me, I pull into the parking lot of the highschool and park. Here's where it gets interesting, when I get out of my car, acting like I never saw him, he was already walking to my door. He said I was speeding and he needed my driver's licence. So I gave it to him naturally, and he came back with a ticket. He said I was doing 41 in a 30. This is where I said "out of courtesy officer, may I see my speed on the speed radar." HE REPLIED, I DON'T HAVE IT. I then asked "how can you give me a ticket if you don't have my speed on the radar gun?" He said "he knew i was going 41" Walked back to his car, and got on in. So, what can my lawyer do about this, and was there a problem here with this cop? -------------------- The most important lesson I learned from Karate-Dō Kyōshan – “You can not be what you do not believe you are” |

always always always fight the ticket!
For the record on this radar thing, the law is different in every state. While I lived in Maryland, I actually went to court and told the judge he did not show me the radar gun when asked. The JUDGE told me that I would be free to go if I lived in Wisconsin or some other states that I can't remember. So go to the libarary and check out the law for your state. Always fight the ticket, plead innocent. Sure it's scary at first, but kinda fun after you do it a couple times. Go to the library and ask for their books on fighting traffic tickets. They should have several. Cop pulled me and my brother over in a rented Minivan on our way to our grandmother's funeral a week ago. Since we were out of state, he made us either pay him the cash on the side of the road (85$) or he would take our license (which we need to get back on the plane). Now THAT is messed up. (lol, my brother was driving though) -------------------- |
