My brother in laws brother has a beutiful 4th geneation Honda prelude with some performance mods on it and a h22 vtech with 200hp so on and so forth..... His friends (one with an srt-4 and a volkswagon golf gti) decided it would be cool to race each other, so they go for it. The prelude downshifts and he gives them a blast. He hits 130kms and starts to fishtail. He ends up spinning and eventually hits a sidewalk and starts to flip over. After the flips he slides upside down like 80 ft, his car at this point was damged from top to bottom. He's fine, luckily he was wearing his seatbelt otherwise he would've snapped his neck.... Goes to show you why these kids think they're Micheal Schumacher and its the reason why our insurance is screwing us in the ass continuously like theyre running out of lube......

Hey, you've got to get back on the horse. Just because he's street racing that doesn't mean he's doing it dangerously. Seriously, is he racing in the midle of the day in heavy traffic, or at night with no one esle on the road? If he's doing it on an abandond road with propper safety precausions, who really cares? I don't race as much as I use to, but I use to all the time. If you do it safely and have propper look outs, go for it.
Idiots trying to pull that fast and furious crap in and out of traffic need to be shot before they hurt someone inoccent. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy

QUOTE(Bigmeanbulldog55 @ Mar 1, 2005 - 5:23 AM) Hey, you've got to get back on the horse. Obviously, he's not racing safely. He just wrecked a car, badly. Let's look at how safe racing on public streets are: Well first off, anyone can pull out, cops like to hide, crackheads run around, and if you're in a residental area, you're pissing off everyone with ricey exhuast. As far as racing conditions go, public road care is not always the best. You could easily hit a pothole while racing or some of rough area where they repave. How do you know no one else will be on the road? Sure you can go half a mile down and see and go back. Could be clear. Someone could pull onto that road. In a rural area maybe? Animals. If you haven't noticed, Celicas are Deer's natural born enemy. I swear, so many celicas loss their lives to deer, it should be the new reason we hunt them. I'd like to hear what the street racing "proper precautions" are. "looks clear rice-boy, gun it!" You guys check the road, the area, block off a street? Ya know, you can just wait until the track opens. Works pretty well for me. And I get these neato things called time slips to prove how slow my car is. This isn't one of my big "you-suck-die-" posts. You guys gotta stop street racing. It's dangerous and since the spring time is coming, everyone's antsy to race. Well every board I'm on, all I hear about is kid's dieing. If you think I'm pulling it outta my butt, I'll post links. Man, just think about how your mom would take that if you died or your girlfriend. Jesus, everyday I miss my bestfriend who died street racing....sometimes it just isn't worth it. So please, use careful judgement. -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife
