My brother in laws brother has a beutiful 4th geneation Honda prelude with some performance mods on it and a h22 vtech with 200hp so on and so forth..... His friends (one with an srt-4 and a volkswagon golf gti) decided it would be cool to race each other, so they go for it. The prelude downshifts and he gives them a blast. He hits 130kms and starts to fishtail. He ends up spinning and eventually hits a sidewalk and starts to flip over. After the flips he slides upside down like 80 ft, his car at this point was damged from top to bottom. He's fine, luckily he was wearing his seatbelt otherwise he would've snapped his neck.... Goes to show you why these kids think they're Micheal Schumacher and its the reason why our insurance is screwing us in the ass continuously like theyre running out of lube......

I would argue against our insurance rates being so high because of street racers..
Its the damned unattentive people on the road in their big ass 6,000 pound SUV's and trucks. I agree - Racing in the middle of a busy street, weaving in and out of traffic iststupid - and yes ive done it - call me stupid =) BUT if you and a buddy want to race - going to find an empty road that you can see for 2 and 1/2 miles with no turn ons or off - whats the harm? Besides the cops of course... Street racing on a whole is generally UNSAFE - but Given the proper situation - saftey precautions - and knowledge - it can be done very safely and undercontrol.. |
