Guy's i can't find anything on the site ........

i'm looking for the japaness charaters for

'Toyota', 'Celica' and 'GT four'......

i don't know if they exist or not as the words are
'brand names' and therefore many not have a
japaness translation.......

but thanks for any info any of you guys might have smile.gif

this is also toyota:
豊田
i don't think you can see it very well but this is the version used for a name, person's name. When we refer to the automobile, it is usually
トヨタ
but the other one can be used also. Hope this helps

you are right in that japanese (not japaness wink.gif ) kanji for "toyota" would refer to the name, since the word isn't otherwise a noun. however, guess who the company is named for...that's right--the toyoda family. since, in kanji, ta and da both signify the rice field character, we use the kanji set indicated above.

the 天 character is "ten" or heaven; this typically would not be used. the funny thing is, if you want to be more "japanese", then you'd simply keep all your badging english because that's what the japanese do!
