My cars temp gauge shows the engine temp to spike up and down from time to time. Its cool (pun) on the freeway as its got free flowing air and only happens sometimes on the road as well as sitting.

The fan does not go on all the time. At first i thought it might be the thermostat but at this point im not sure. Could be the fans or a plug? I know the fans work cus they do go on, when they want to that is.

at this point i just turn on the AC and thus the fan comes on cooling it off.

any ideas?

I have wired in fans to a toggle before, and might do this during the summer. i also go to straight distilled water during summer months. Coolant does not cool, its only a antifreeze to keep you water from turning into ice.
