This just started about two days ago.
When the car is moving (not necessarily under acceleration) I'll hear this soft tapping, clunking from the front right side. It doesn't occur in regular intervals, and is pretty soft, I can only hear it if I turn off the radio. The sound doesn't seem associated with bumps or turning the wheel, as I can hear it when I'm just going in a straight line. I've just had the ST sway bars put on, but from what I've read, this doesn't seem like the sound it would make if they were rubbing. Any ideas? loose control arm? CV joint? QUOTE(aznxrussel @ Mar 12, 2005 - 6:30 PM) check for any grease on the wheel....chances are it will be the axle Happened to me. Check the axle first. The mechanic said he had worked on two other sixth gens that had 2 loose bolts. My two bolts fell out and I got stranded. ![]() |
