I am considering repainting my car since i need to do some body work and install my splitters and extetions anyway. Also, this will cover all the small chips i have built up on my car for the past 7+ years.
I love the how the red looks on my car, so i want to keep it red. But i was thinking perhaps going for a bit darker shade of red. Does anyone have any suggestions? or have you seen a red car color that you really like? I was thinking along the lines of the Cadillac cts red ![]() other suggestions please... ![]() -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

Trouble is, to do a proper job he'd have to remove his engine, and preferably strip his interior.
I'll agree the Caddy CTS red is nice -- so is the Mazda3/RX-8 Velocity Red, with the fine metallics in two-stage paint, which I what I got when I repainted my car. By doing a bunch of the prep work myself, I got a good deal on a more comprehensive spray job, to the point where you can't tell it's been repainted unless you look carefully at a few spots. Nice thing is, the spray ended in the water channels of the engine bay, so you get a transition from metallic red to flat red. A caveat to a nicer red, however. All those dark reds, including the Velocity Red, use a dark primer. You won't get the same kind of depth off of painting over the stock red coat. |
