Shin, its actually physically impossible for you to get better braking power out of them; they're surface space is reduced too much by the slots and the holes- now if you replaced the pads, or your old rotors were going out.. then you might feel a difference; but a stock rotor vs cross and drilled, stock rotor would win.

drilled and slotted rotor do improve braking and brake fade because as you brake a gas builds up between your pads and rotor and the slots or holes provide a place for this gas to escape so your pads and rotor can have better contact |

Read ANYWHERE from retailers that sell slotted/drilled rotors and they WILL NOT say those rotors are for better performance. With today's compound brake pads... there is NO reason to run drilled or slotted rotors from a braking performance perspective. There may be minor heat dissapation differences and such, but braking improvements are lacking. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

There's too little surface area- there's no rotor for the pads to make contact WITH. One or the other has the ability to improve braking, as you state. With their powers combined, they don't do jack ****. Not to mention that no one here on this site has brakes powerful enough to merit even drilled or slotted rotors. |

Some of us do ![]() I'm going for slotted rotors next as I compete in the odd road rally. Despite some TRD pads and race brake fluid, I still managed to get the pads to glaze over during my last rally. My Rover rally car will be getting 331.7mm rotors with Wilwood 6 pot calipers up from with 300mm at the rear with twin pots. Combine those with some seriously sticky DOT approved slicks and you'll have some mega stopping power - especially in a car that will weight around 1000kg (and have 300bhp @ wheels) ![]() Gary -------------------- ![]() 1994 ST205 Celica GT-FOUR Group A WRC - running in new engine 1993 Rover 220 GTi tarmac rally car (under construction) 3SGE power here we come....
