Well after a little more than a year of boosting my motor is finally seeing the effects of turbo. Stock internals boosting 11 PSI. Anyways i have an internal oil leak (piston rings and valves). This is really frustrating!! So i have 2 options now. 1.) get a short block, blueprinted balanced, port and polished, pistons,..... everything i need to boost 14lbs out of an ST block. or 2.) complete 3s-gte swap.
ive wanted a 3sgte for forever now so im leaning towards taht. the only reason y i would consider the new custom short block is because i can still drive my car while they are assembling the new block. but with the 3sgte my car would be in the shop for quite awhile.... |

the tranny is good..... sort of.. hasnt gave up on me ever and its been over a year now since the turbo. HOwever the tranny oil is always hot and ****ed up, but that's cuz of my driving. If u had turbo wouldnt u bone out everywhere u went? Im at the street races alot too soo i ran the car hard aften. Im getting the motor swap because i want to run higher boost. Thx for all the opinions. I want to keep the ST block, but theres just not enough power and potential in it ( my goal is to have 450 hp at the wheels and an 11sec street car).
If ur squeezing at high speeds and high gears to save ur tranny, u wont be doing much to save ur motor. Ur motor cant take that much power and squeezing at high gears or on uphills will blow ur motor pretty fast. My homie blew his motor squeezing in 5th gear racing a porcshe. it was a civic SI tho =/ |
