Thanks to Doug and rjb23 for experimenting with other short shifters (Doug-EVO and rjb23-7th gen). I recieved mine (7th gen about $45 on ebay) and installed. It took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. I downloaded the instructions from TWMs website and read the ones in the how to articles.
I have to say the throw is much much shorter and about 1-2 inches lower than stock. My finger are kinda close to the dash but I think it is because I only used 2 of the 4 spacers (the back 2) plus I have big hands. I will put some pics up when I put the other 2 spacers in. Bottom line, this this rocks - great mod for $45. This post has been edited by Batman722: Mar 29, 2005 - 12:24 AM -------------------- |

QUOTE(Batman722 @ Mar 29, 2005 - 4:07 AM) I think they were talking about that piece. The GREEN ARROW I didn't cut mine and it's smooth. I might hack it out tomorrow and see if there is a difference... I know for the lancer one you def need top, unless you spaced the housing a lot higher. Its all really depends on how high it is sitting so if it is or not bending the shift linkage. If it shifts smothly and you dont have to use much pressure, Only little more then stock, it should be fine. Mine was a BIA in 1st 3rd an 5th.. I mean it was hard to put into gear. |
