Heres the story printed in the paper:
Kirkland police are investigating two Eastside teenagers for vehicular homicide after a street race yesterday ended with a teenage passenger dead and two other people injured. An 18-year-old Redmond man and a 16-year-old Kirkland girl were racing eastbound on Northeast 124th Street about 4:30 p.m., said Kirkland Police Lt. Bill Hamilton. In the 11000 block, the man's 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 GT cut in front of the girl's 1988 Ford Mustang, Hamilton said. The cars collided and then went out of control. The Mitsubishi traveled over the median and into the path of a 1965 Dodge sedan, driven westbound on Northeast 124th Street by an 87-year-old Kirkland man. The driver of the Mitsubishi, his 16-year-old female passenger from Kirkland and the elderly man were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The passenger died late last night, a hospital spokeswoman said. The younger driver was in serious condition and the elderly man was in critical, she said. Police did not release the names of those involved. The driver of the Mustang and her passenger, another 16-year-old girl from Kirkland, were unhurt. At the scene, police arrested the driver on suspicion of felony vehicular assault and released her to her parents. A charge of vehicular homicide could result because the passenger in the Mitsubishi died, Lt. Rex Caldwell said. Caldwell said once the other driver recovers, he'll also be arrested. -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City
