My question is. If I turbocharge my standard engine, will I need a new transmission/clutch, brakes etc?
Or to put it this way, how many horsepower/psi of boost can my standard transmission/clutch/brakes etc. handle before something blows? I'm not interested in a GT-4 or all out engine swap and 300+ horsepower. I just want to freshen up my 116 hp standard engine a bit. Anything above 150 wheel horsepower and I'm happy. New intake, header, exhaust and a turbo should be able to get me those extra 35-40 hp, right? Also, the part search lists the Greddy SP1 Cat-back exhaust as a possible addon to my car, but is that because in US the 99-model Celicas are all 2.0 litre GTs? Or will this exhaust infact fit my car (non-GT european). On a sidenote, why should exhaust for the GT not fit the non-GT? The cars look the same, don't they? (This is the German version of the car with a 1.8 litre engine (1.8i), not the 2.0 litre) This post has been edited by Illyont: Apr 9, 2005 - 3:05 AM -------------------- |

QUOTE(Illyont @ Apr 10, 2005 - 7:46 AM) QUOTE(Bigmeanbulldog55 @ Apr 10, 2005 - 4:24 AM) They didn't put rear discs on any ST's did they? Well, my ST is from germany and have discs both in front and rear. Guess I'm lucky then Good deal man. You got to love them 4 wheel discs. I learn something new every day. This sites good for that. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy
