Reinforcing the invader front lip and front bumper, what works? |

so this was my plan...
get the front bumper fitted good, and holes drilled etc, then adding some fiberglass to the inside to make it a little stronger, maybe taking some chicken wire up in the whole inside of the piece, puddying it to the bumper and fiberglassing over in parts, this way holding to piece togehter a bit and giving it a little support while allowing it to have a slight bit of flexibility when putting it on the car... now to the lip... as probably every single person here knows, the vader front lip will split in have if you hit a squirrel with it... i was thinking to reinforce it i could put a piece of fiberglassed wood against the front, then fiberglass over it to bond it to the lip. after id include some wood screws hidden, going through the bottom, along with a little more fiberglass on the outside with some extra layers of clear coat after i paint of course... any good ideas to make this piece stronger? blah all this wood and crap is crazy talk what are you building a ship?
go to advanced auto buy bondo with SHORT hair fiberglass......(comes in a can just like regular bondo just says "with fiberglass strands") mix it with hardener then apply it to the inside of the lip WALA your done and its strong as shizle |
