In a few days or so my friends and I are going on a camping trip that is located somewhere up a mountain. I'm concerned about what gear to be in when constantly going up a mountain. Although I have done it before but it was not on a mountain road instead just a normal street where the roads are straight.
Any tips for do's and don'ts? I'll be adding alot of weight to the car, so i'm not sure if it can handle going up or if it has enough power to do it. -Thanks. |

your car will make it just fine. I had my Celi crammed to the roof with crap, then drove 400 miles, some of it mountainous with 6% grade. Just drive where you are comfortable. If it starts to lug, shift down. Depending on what kind of road you are on I would guess you will probably be in 3rd on the corners most of the time, maybe 2nd if it is like a hairpin or something. Gotta love the twistys.
