Hehe, Well..... Lets start.
First of all, who aint know yet, me and Edo (Link to his profile >>>) where contacting eatch other about 2 years now. He helped me alot, i did the same. We live about 1700 miles away from eatch other (he's italian), but we talked alot on phone and etc. So.... The deal is - Edo, was going to fix his car from the accident hes got, and he wanted full repaint. In italy they charge about 2500 euros (2800$) for full repaint with color change. So i offerend him my help, and aranged everything here for a full repaint with color change a LOOOOOooooot cheaper ![]() I aranged the truck (my friend buys cars from Italy, so he helped me with bringing Edos car here), and after 5 days of waiting i drove his car home ![]() ![]() ![]() From the first look, there wasnt too much wokr on his car... But... after some further examination.. i found Waaaayyyyyy too much things to do before it goes to paint shop.. Here it is, the damage and things need to be fixed: Fender..... Out of shape - compleatly, the whole shape is made out of Bondo... What the hell do goys thought then they fix it? The metal is not even straighted, the dents are all letf and instead of hamerring the metal out to the place they fixed it with bondo..... ![]() ![]() Bumper, needed a bit of heat gun, and soldering gun ![]() ![]() ![]() Driver side fender... it looked just like not a big dent.... hmmm, till i started to hamer it... It seemed like both fenders had a big damage, but instead of shaping metal to its original pl;ace, the guys who fixed car before, go the fender shape outt of bondo, with offcorse started to crack.... ![]() Side skirts - Going Custom Baby ![]() ![]() ![]() Interior.... Who ever painted this - deserves to be shoot. Wiring... Oh man ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, enouth ox examinations...... Lets start works ![]() After about hour, his car looked like this... Hood was open, and works where fully began. ![]() 30 min later - both fenders are out of the car, waiting till i remove whole bondo from them, sand them till bare metal, and then hammer them to the original shape. ![]() ![]() -------------------- Ex celica owner - just a guy from other side of the pond...

Oooooook sorry for the long wait, but few last days i'v been working on Edos var for about 12 hours a day so i dont want to turn my PC on then i get home - just nice warm sleep.......
But.... as i promised - here coes the MAKING THE SIDESKIRTS: Lets start from the point, that is nessesary to build some simple shape sideskirts. First of all i bough a sheet of metal thickness about 1 mm, then i vent to one metal shot and asked them to bend the shape from it, like i arleady knew what shape i want so i just drawed scetch and let them do they job. After this, then the metal shape was ready, i lay fiberglass inside it, basicly i use about 4-6 layers of fiber fabric, to get the right thickness and strenght. Here are the pics of the metal shape and right next to it - removed one piece of fiberglass shape, ready to be used in making basic shape of the sides. The reason i use metal shape, that it is the fastest way to get the fiberglass product out of it, it wount requires any mold relising chemical, and it is easy to work with it. ![]() After i got one straight piece, i cut the top till needed height, and then im fitting it on the car. As long as we all know that the celica side is curved, so you cant use one long straight piece, so im making 2 straight pieces of fiberglass shape, then im fitting one on the straight place (there the doors area), another piece im cutting into 2, and fitting them from the ends. ![]() ![]() It requers sanding to fit the other 2 pieces to the sides, cuz the shape of the car is not straight at all, so after sanding them till the needed form, im just fixing them to center piece by aliuminium plates and some screws together. Im using aliuminium plates on the inner side too, just to get the strenght in these plases. Well, then all this done, im removing them from the car, and glassing the iner side (note: Im leaving the aliuminium plates inside, i just glass over them, just to have some reinforcment.). ![]() After the glassing is done, im cutting the shape to the right lenght, and try to fit it again on the car, just to see if everything is alright. As you can see in this photo, the car is all taped up with covering material, yes it is cuz im ready to move to the next level now. ![]() ![]() After i fit them tight on the car - i glass them on the gar, just to have the best fit, and to rise the ends of it higher on the body of the car. The epoxyd removes easy from the covering material, so after its all dry, just pull the scirts out a bit - and here ya go: ![]() ![]() Well, after some sanding, cutting messuring - i got one side almost done, sure you can see in these photos what it looks lie for real, but they will look pretty nice and simple. After some desidions i cutted the small vent on the end of the sides, just to ruin the plain design, still need to make somthing on the front of the sides, but i will see what will come to my head then i install the front extensions... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Later yeasterday after whole works, i finally tryed installing SSIII extensios, just to see is the height of the sides is atleast the same as extensions - and bingo, it is ![]() Thanks you all guys ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- Ex celica owner - just a guy from other side of the pond...
