In a few days or so my friends and I are going on a camping trip that is located somewhere up a mountain. I'm concerned about what gear to be in when constantly going up a mountain. Although I have done it before but it was not on a mountain road instead just a normal street where the roads are straight.
Any tips for do's and don'ts? I'll be adding alot of weight to the car, so i'm not sure if it can handle going up or if it has enough power to do it. -Thanks. |

Biggest thing to watch would be your brakes. If the car will be loaded down make sure the brakes are in good condition, and have them checked after the trip. When I was delivering newspapers, I warped rotors like you wouldn't believe because of all the downhill stops with so much weight in the car.
Other than that, just remember how much stuff is in the car and don't go too fast untill it's unloaded. |
