i have a linksys wireless G router that i use for wireless net connection with my laptop. the router is located in an upstairs bedroom and the laptop sits in the living room. the problem im having is that the laptop will get a lot of dropouts and will loose the net connection.

do you guys have any tips on making this connection more realiable? anyone ever buy a range expander? how well do they work ?

I have D-Link wireless G, and my access point is downstairs on the other side of the house (60ft) through a couple walls and I dont ever get dropped. It could be your firewall if you have one. When my Norton was setup correctly I'd get dropped all the time.
