I believe he is talking about advancing ignition timing for a few added horses. If this is the case, you would be best off taking it to a good mechanic and asking if it would be safe to advance your ignition timing a few degrees. Most likely they will say yes, provided that you upgrade to mid-high grade gasoline for however long you have your timing advanced. If you stay at low(87) grade, you are gauranteed to get some detonation in the cylinders which is B.A.D. Its not an easy task to do unless you have a timing gun, and actually know what you are doing/looking for.
Best bet, take it to a mechanic and have them do it as high as safely possible. Oh, and fill up with medium (for slight advancing) or high (for lots of advancing) grade gas before you go. |
