I have street parking in Berkeley because it's only $30 for a year from the city instead of $50 bucks a month for a private parking spot through my apartment. So last weekend, I parked my car on the street in front of my house. There was this heavy black plastic garbage can sitting on the sidewalk in front of the car, but I didn't take too much note of it and happily went on my way inside the house.

When I came back out the next morning, the garbage can was knocked off the sidewalk and lay on the street next to my car. I looked closer and it left this dent about the side of a half dollar on my drivers side door!

AGUHG@!# WHY! What the hell? Bad karma? This thing has gotta cost at least a hundred bucks to fix. I was so angry - took it out on the trashcan and kicked it back cross the sidewalk. I still haven't gotten around to getting a quote on fixing the dent yet. <sigh>

Man, the guy I bought the car from lived in San Jose, and was a Berkeley grad. When I told him I was a Berkeley student he told me "You're taking it back to Berkeley - it's gonna get beat up"

Dag. I was fine until now. Shoo.

college cars get beat up man. its just a fact of life. I think I've spent about 1500 fixing dents in my car until I got it painted last summer. now looking at another 500 or so (this time it was my fault tho)

if theres no paint damage see if they can pop it from behind. paintless dent repair is usually pretty reasonable
