ok. about a month ago, i bought 2 pairs of polk audio db650s from circuit city and the guy told me i'd be fine with my stock head unit (LIAR). after about 3 weeks i installed the backs. i didnt feel like doing the fronts, so i took it to a local car audio shop and said i would clip the speakers if i ran them off my stock deck. he said that underpowering them is as bad as overpowering. i wasnt gonna buy a deck cus i like the stock look on my all black interior, but i was wondering what black mp3 decks are out there for a reasonable price, and where they can be purchased from. any pics will help. thanks.
btw- circuit city SUCKS! |

Well, if the gains are set too high on an amp(the gain is not a volume control), clipping can occur, which can damage speakers. I'm guessing that in your case DmVinny, that's what happened.
